Rental Fees
All rental fees must be paid for by cheque payable to the Vernon Japanese Cultural Society.
Receipts will be provided by the VJCS Hall Manager
RENTAL RATES

| Conference Room (only): | $30 / hour [up to three hours] | $100 / day [for all rentals longer than 3 hours] |
| Conference Room + Main Hall: | $100 for conference room + (Hourly or Daily Rental Rate) for Main Hall | |
PLEASE NOTE: If the Conference Room is rented together with the Main Hall, then the Conference Room Rental Fee is $100 (regardless of how many hours it is used).
DAMAGE DEPOSIT
All rentals are subject to a $200 damage deposit. The damage deposit must be made out on a separate cheque from the rental fees.
After each rental, the hall rental manager will inspect the facilities for any damage.
If no damage to the hall or kitchen is found, the damage deposit cheque will be returned to the renter or destroyed.
PLEASE NOTE: The $200 damage deposit will not be returned if the hall manager finds damage to the rented facilities or if the cleanup policy has not been been performed
S.O.C.A.N. Levy
The VJCS is required to collect a $65 SOCAN levy for any event that plays or broadcasts copyrighted music.
S.O.C.A.N. is the Society of Composers, Authors and Musicians. SOCAN administers the communication and performing rights of copyright-protected music when it is used in Canada.
No fee is required if the user has a letter from SOCAN that exempts them from paying the fee

CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE
The VJCS does not provide any insurance protection for the benefit of the Renter or any participants of the event.
The Renter MIGHT be required to obtain a Certificate of Insurance from a certified insurance company which protects the Vernon Japanese Cultural Society from liability for any injury that occurs during the event.
Liability insurance will be required if:
a) the event serves alcohol
b) the event is a dance or live music concert
c) the event is an athletic or martial arts exhibition
d) If the hall rental manager or the VJCS executive committee otherwise deems it necessary.
